Gloucestershire driver makes return to all-electric series after full day’s running for Envision Racing at Templehof circuit
Gloucestershire’s Zak O’Sullivan completed his second full day’s running in Formula E after the series’ latest rookie test in Berlin.
Zak, 20, from Withington, near Cheltenham, got his second taste of the series’ new Gen3 Evo cars on Monday, five months on from competing in the first rookie test of the season at Jeddah in February.
He took part in the full-day test alongside Envision Racing teammate Johnathan Hoggard, who is also a simulator driver for Silverstone-based Envision Racing Formula E is now in its 11th season, with the new Gen3 Evo machinery the most powerful and efficient electric vehicles ever made, reaching speeds of 200mph, and Zak said his latest outing was a great opportunity to be part of the series again.
Zak said: “It was very enjoyable day in Berlin for the formula E rookie test and it was great to get in the car again after a short session in Jeddah earlier this year. I learnt a lot and, of course, a thank you to Envision Racing for the chance to get in one of their cars again.”
Following the completion of the Berlin test, thoughts for Zak immediately turn to a return to Japan for rounds six and seven of the Super Formula championship at Fuji Speedway (July 18-20).”
He said: “Racing in Super Formula has been a very challenging experience so far in 2025, but Fuji is a track I’ve already raced on in Super GT and tested at with my Kondo Racing team in Super Formula. With my usual track knowledge disadvantage gone, I’m hoping this will help me achieve some good results this weekend.”
Envision Racing, known as the ‘greenest team on the greenest grid’, was the first team in Formula E to be certified carbon neutral by the Carbon Trust in 2020 and has achieved the FIA’s 3 Star Sustainability Accreditation.
